TFA: 2

At the beggining of the second chapter a gong is rung to signal a meeting. The meeting is to discuss a woman who was murdered by another village in the market. Okonkwo has to go to the other tribe to tell them that they owe the man whose wife was killed. He was chosen to do so because he is the fiercest warrior of the village. They owe him a virgin woman to be his wife, and they owe him a young boy. If they do not provide this man with these then the two villages will go into war with each other, but that doesn't happen.
Also because Okonkwo is so wealthy, he can support a big family of three wives and eight children. He is extremely harsh on his one son, who he thinks is lazy. He not only yells at him a lot, he also beats him.

This chapter was very weird. Weird in the fact on how they decided to go to war or not. He is very harsh on his one son.
