Personally, I didn't understand why Smith wasn't supposed to see females. I know it would confuse him and everything, but still, it is Earth, everything will confuse him. Some of Smith's rituals are shown for once. "Water-Sharing" was a big deal to him. His culture seems to really praise water. Do you think it is because there probably is very little water on Mars? How about how much Smith inherited! He got so much money, and he got the entire planet of Mars! Too bad he doesn't even understand everything that is happening to him to reek the benefits.

I personally do not know much about other planets, especially Mars. Maybe they do not have a large water supply, so I can understand why water is so precious. The "water-sharing" ritual was also their way of being intimate, so that could be another reason why it was praised so much.
That Michael Valentine Smith is one lucky man/martian to inherit all of that money. It disappointed me that the government was trying to take advantage of him. Secretary General Douglas was a corruptive character. They were even going to kill Michael for his money and ownership of Mars. Which I still do not know if he truly was the owner of Mars. It stated how he was not because he was not a true martian because of his human heritage. He was just merely born on Mars and there was already a civilization there prior to his existance.
I liked Jill. But her relationship with Ben confused me. I know they joked and were sarcastic with one anther but are there true feelings between them? I respect her courage to help Ben plant the microphones near Mike's room, and the fact that she snuck into his room and took part in the "water-sharing."
