Well yea, she definitely was courageous, but she dug herself a huge hole. Taking him out of that hospital, away from Douglas, could have saved Smith's life. If she didn't do this, Smith would have either been taken advantage of or killed. What did you think of how he could make people disappear? I know he is from Mars and everything, but he is still human. That is like raising a dog, it isn't human, therefore it can't talk or do other human like things. I thought it was funny how curious Smith was about females though.

Jill's actions deffineately saved Smith's life. After Jubal recorded Smith's disappearing powers and replayed them slower, he discovered that the object got smaller until it vanished. He noted that it was simply impossible because of dimensions. I still do not understand how he acquired these powers, because like you said, he is still human. But later in the novel Jill and other's who belong to the "ninth circle" learn to use telekinises on a certain level. So maybe it's just a development of the mind that takes learning and practice.
What did you think Mike meant by "wasting food" when he explained about his able to make things disappear. And later he talks of eating Jabul, I found this to be very strange.
